Introduction
Our Titanium Dioxide grades are produced in China using the sulphate and chloride methods and they consist of rutile types. Rutile variants are tetragonal crystalline structures.
Stability of the medium in use is important and this is optimised by a coating of hydrated Aluminium oxide or Silica oxide. The coating has an effect on wetting/dispersion, and this is related to the properties of the medium. To obtain a balance suitable for paint, plastics and aqueous systems where the phases change, ie acrylic latex, it may be necessary to have both an organic and inorganic coating.
Main products
R210 is a micronised rutile pigment, lattice-stabilised with alumina, and surface treated with aluminium and silicon compounds. This is a multi-purpose rutile pigment characterised by very good light and weathering resistance. Its high whiteness, high covering power and good dispersibility make it suitable for use in almost all media.It is produced by the sulphate process
R210C is a micronised rutile pigment, lattice-stabilised with alumina, and suface-treated with aluminium and silicon compounds.Again this is a multi-purpose titanium dioxide of high quality and dispersibility, confers high gloss and is produced by the chloride process.
R110 is a micronised rutile pigment, lattice-stabilised with alumina, and surface treated with zinc compounds. Very economical in use, it can be used for road-marking paints, concrete products, paper pulp, stoppers and sealants .
